Acting Against Disaster

The 15-minute documentary 'Acting Against Disaster' highlights the effects on children of the introduction of the Disaster Risk Reduction (D.R.R.) concept and program to 13 schools in Wajir South and Habaswein Districts of North Eastern Kenya. The documentary invites you to experience the impact of policy decisions on the daily life of the children, families, and society as a whole, in remote villages by focusing on the child's' participation. This project was supported by The Save the Children Fund whose goal is to improve the lives of children through better education, health care, and economic opportunities, as well as providing emergency aid in natural disasters, war, and other conflicts. This Project was also supported by the emergency humanitarian aid organization Japan Platform.
